Poisoned words pierce the heart, leaving broken spirits in their wake. A soul's lament.

WORDS

Your words are poison-tipped arrows,
Piercing our fragile start,
Your tongue drips vinegar to my marrow,
The poison seeps into my heart,

Your judgement springs so readily,
Sadness rises in my soul,
You seize on a fleeting moment,
Blind to the spirit of the whole,

For each unplanned stumble,
You drive an emotional stake,
I'm left feeling inadequate,
Daily, I bleed from your rake,

The dam I hid behind shattered,
Releasing my raging river,
In your heart, an Angel of Dread,
Poison, your arrows deliver,

In your mind, there's a palace,
A house where the Angel treads,
Your final arrow of malice,
Left me smashed, broken, and dead.
Goodbye.
