The Sacrifice

A tale of a suffering king who would save man from his evil plight.

With no beginning and no end of life

He came to Earth to give us light

Derided, shunned, beaten and scorned

When all his followers grieved and mourned

The thought they had killed the King

But they did not know the victory He’d bring

As He hung on a tree He breathed his last

With it he cured man’s sinful past



Taken down and put in a tomb

Where His Spirit had loomed

Three days and nights He was gone

Then would come the victory song

As he rose from the dead

He had smitten death



Now, salvation had come to men

From whom the Father He had sent

He sits higher than the heavens as King over all

To Him who had come to answer the call

Thus, I will one day thrive in His presence

In the Father’s name who is His exact essence.
