In case you forgot how serious can death be...let us both remember |
One moment is all it takes for the colours of life to turn Gray For the reaper to claim his debts: we are all one breath away Though we differ in funerals, our reactions remain the same For that sudden tragedy will always hit hard, regardless of who to blame And then what? I'll tell you what happens Everyone goes back to normal shortly, sometimes even the loved ones of the dead as if saying:" well, it happens" "And what do you want them to do? drown in despair?", you might say "After misery should come happiness, and so it's only natural that in grief they don't drift away" And you're right my friend, life indeed finds a way through hardships of all kinds: eventually we'll rise, and grief will not stay However, it is in the journey to healing where we find the problem For many: death remains too cruel to understand, with lessons too hard to fathom Which is why they choose to ignore that chilling reminder But today you and i won't be like that, so let's not delay things any further Where to start? maybe with people taking life for granted "I'll do it tomorrow, we'll meet after some months", so sure as if they have the reaper's schedule scouted Living in constant fear of death is not healthy, but seemingly ignoring it is one cruel denial The kind of ignorance that works as a fragile shield, covering fears instead of facing them in a trial Drinks, music, jewels, food: we use everything to ignore what death tries to teach Even when seeing death tolls in conflicts: some tend to see them as mere number caused by things out of reach Take a moment to think, why some crimes go unpunished even when poor souls are involved? It's because those in power lost touch with death, making their empathy seemingly dissolved Don't be like them my friend, and don't let the value of life slip away Since contemplating the significance of its dark brother is essential, not a truth you'd want to deny And never forget, for once it was believed that when death talked to a human, the following was said: "You know where to live I know where to die You know how to smile I know how to cry You know when to sleep and so do I REMEMBER ME WELL, because unlike life: I'M NOT A LIE " |
