Seven ways to decide how to find the truth of something.
What is truth? How can the truth of a thing be explained?

Truth needs evidence. Evidence relates to logic as we know it. It relates to realism. Researching this question as a journalist: wow! The search engine came up with 108,000000 answers.

Philosophy, psychology, cosmology, physics, historians, mathematicians, researchers, technicians and more all have answers to this question.
,
The following was picked out of the many answers:

7 ways to explain "What is Truth, " If this question exists it is because humans want to know the answer,

1. Man needs a foundation for the answer, so we use logic. Logic is a way to think. It is based on good judgment or based on a system of ideas that have worked before.

2.Man needs coherence so we use a set of beliefs that work. Look at Math for an example. 1+1 always equals 2. "a set of beliefs that work."

3. What corresponds. We need an accurate description of the set of beliefs that work. Is there a place or a person who has showed humans the way to those beliefs? Yes. Jesus came to explain the things already known as The Bible. Several times in the Old Testament the Hebrews lost track of the commandments of God. People were appointed to keep track of those commands and explain the way people should pass down God's laws. In the Old Testament we see a historical account of God's interaction with humans. In the New Testament we see how far God has gone to reach out and make a safe and secure living environment for humans.

4. Phenomenological ( a big word which denotes the study of consciousness and objects of direct experience.) focus on direct experience.

5. Pragmatic consequence of action. Pragmatic means to deal with things in a practical realistic way; not theories or guesses. What are the action based consequences of belief.

6. Social construction--What are the ways socially the truth is progressive? What kind of interaction has occurred? Is it a progressive interaction? What is the reaction of truth when pushed against something false?

7. What values of life does the truth require? Moral or ethical or tasteful values needed to uphold a truth? Is there a place or way to find those values listed? Do the values listed work if you but them into action? Is the value for extending life or destroying life?

All seven of these are based on the conjugation of the verb to be = What is?
