Daily Flash Fiction Entry with the prompt: "Have you figured it out yet?"
The sound of the door opening only distracted the wizard from his reading for an instant. Only his brother would dare enter without knocking, so he continued to read. The first Rule of Wizardry, Appearances are Everything!

The boots approaching his desk, a rhythmic rattle of metal denoting he carried a sword, and then a pause. He continued to read.

"Have you figured it out yet?"

He closed the tome with a thump and looked his brother in the eyes, “How to make someone invisible?”

“Invisibility? No, no. How to make us rich!”

“If I could do the former, the latter would be an afterthought.”

The knight’s face wrinkled in thought as he translated the wizard’s answer. "For a Life Goal you've been working on that for a long time now. No progress?"

"Everyday is a step in the right direction," confidence filled the wizard's face. "Just like getting rich. One gold coin at a time."

The knight smiled at the thought. "I have just come from the King and he has a job for us to do. Lots of gold."

That cracked the mages visage. "Does he know about you and the Princess?"

"No," the smile slipping off his face, "I don't think so. Why?"

"I am just trying to figure out if we are supposed to succeed on this mission... or horriblly fail."
