That's it. I might as well disappear. (This story is originally posted on Medium)
That’s it. I might as well disappear. No one understands me. No one appreciates me. What’s the point? My mother can barely look at me. My father and I are not talking. My sister acts like I'm invisible. What’s wrong with me? What’s wrong with them? What did I ever do to them?

Yes, I’ve told my family things I shouldn’t have. But I apologized about a hundred times. It’s not enough. There is no way to compensate for what I have done.

So, now I will just disappear. Let’s see if they care.

I'm stranded in Miami, penniless, and bewildered about how I got here. My family didn't blow up my phone yet.

Who cares? They're probably fine without me.

It's been five days and I still haven't had anything to eat. I tried begging for money, but no one would help.

So, the next thing I knew, my phone rang.

My sister’s name flashed through my screen. I picked up quickly.

“Where are you?”

Anger boiled inside me. "Where am I?! Why do you care?!"

"Calm down big brother. Let's talk. Just come home so we can work things out."

So, I did. And surprisingly, everything worked out.
