First Day: Read Lesson 12 Notes.
The notes and lecture fortify the truth of the passage for understanding and application to daily life.

1. After listening to the lecture, what stood out to you concerning God's complete and perfect sovereignty?

Second Day: Read Revelation 7:1-3.

John saw angels with power over nature.

3. What were the four angels doing at the beginning of Revelation 7?

They were standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds so that so no wind would blow against the sea or earth or any tree.


4a. What might the winds in this passage represent? (See also Jeremiah 49:36-37 and Daniel 7:2.)

The wrath of God and the destruction of His enemies. Turbulence. ” 36 I will bring against Elam the four winds
from the four quarters of heaven;
I will scatter them to the four winds,
and there will not be a nation
where Elam’s exiles do not go.
37 I will shatter Elam before their foes,
before those who want to kill them;
I will bring disaster on them,
even my fierce anger,”
declares the Lord.
“I will pursue them with the sword
until I have made an end of them.


b. What might God's purpose be in holding back the winds? What does this say about His character? (See also 2 Peter 3:8-9.)


It’s not time to release them. He Is still providing time for people to turn to Him. He Is endlessly patient and wants to provide mercy to people. They must turn to ihim first.


c. How has God shown His mercy in holding back the judgment you deserve? What has been your response?

He showed mercy when He saved my life during that stroke.


Third Day: Read Revelation 7:1-8.

John heard God promise protection for His people.

5. From verse 2, what did "another angel" have from God? What does this signify? (See also Ezekiel 9; Ephesians 1:13-14 4:30; or other Scripture references for your answer.)

He had the seal of the Living God. The seal is used to mark those who follow Him.

6. In the list of the 12 tribes, who is mentioned first, and who is most prominent from that tribe? Why might this be significant? (See also Genesis 49:10 and Matthew 1:3-6, 16; 2:6.)

Judah. Jesus Is the Lion of Judah, the most prominent of that tribe. Jesus Is the fulfillment of the statement from Jacob that 10 The scepter will not depart from Judah,
nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet,[a]until he to whom it belongs[b] shall come and the obedience of the nations shall be his.

When Jesus comes back, He will be the Lion of Judah.

7. What assurance do you have that God has sealed you in salvation and chosen you to belong to Him?

The indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Jesus told me so.

8. How has God clarified your thinking and devotion to Him as you consider His sovereign judgment, mercy, and redeeming grace?


Fourth Day: Read , Revelation 7:9-12.

John saw a great multitude praising God.

9. a. Describe the vastness and diversity of the gathered multitude.

They were from every people and tribe and nation and tongue.

b. How might this diverse multitude represent God's people today? What lessons can you learn from this?

Belief in Jesus is international. Jesus, the Lion of Judah and the Lamb Who was slain, is for everyone. No one has a lock on Jesus. We cannot judge others as unworthy based on anything, because we are not the judges, Jesus Is.

” Favoritism Forbidden 2 My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism. 2 Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in. 3 If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” 4 have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?

c. From verse 10, what was the cry of the great multitude, and what were they acknowledging?

“Salvation belongs to our God Who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” Jesus Is God and the source of our salvation.

d Who do you know who is not yet part of this multitude? What do you think God wants you to do about it?



10. a. What did the actions and words of the angels, elders, and four living creatures communicate?

A desire to humble themselves and give themselves over to praise and worship.


b. What truths about God most often lead you to worship Him?

His faithfulness, His sovereignty, and His holiness. He loves me and always is with me.


Fifth Day: Read Revelation 7:13-17.
John saw praise from a great multitude.

11. How did the elder identify those in the white-robed multitude?

” And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” Revelation 7:14


12. Explain the significance of the white robes. (See also Isaiah 61:10 or other Scripture references for your answer.)

Those robes are the garments of salvation.


13. How is the future restoration and deliverance of these believers described?

They will be sheltered, they won’t be hungry or thirsty, or endure scorching heat. The Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd and guide them to springs of living water. God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

I was struck by the mention of scorching heat. When Jesus comes, everything, including the sun, will be destroyed. Sunlight is necessary for crops. For Adam, the ground was cursed. I commanded you,
‘You must not eat from it,’ the ground is cursed[ba] because of you;
in painful toil you will eat[bb] of it all the days of your life.
18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you,
but you will eat the grain[bc] of the field.
19 By the sweat of your brow[bd] you will eat food
until you return to the ground,[be]

There won’t be a need to toil and sweat to grow food, as Adam did. That curse will be removed. Rev 21:23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.

14 a.Considering Revelation 7:17, what does the gospel of John say about: The Lamb? (John 1:29)

The Lamb of God takes away the sin of the world.

The Shepherd? (John 10:1-18)

The Shepherd knows His sheep and calls them by name. He Is the door they enter through to receive salvation.The Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.


Living water? (John 4:4-14; 7:38)

The living water comes from Jesus will never thirst again. They will have salvation. All are welcome to come and ask for this water.

What effect does Revelation 7:15-17 have on the way you approach the Lord?

This passage renews my awe of His splendor and majesty, and that He wants to lavish His love on me. I’m unworthy, y’know?


Sixth Day: Review Revelation 7.

The Lamb secures the salvation of God's people.

15. What has God revealed to you or begun to transform in you through this week’s study?

That the tiniest detail is in His control. No matter how much I see of His plan, there are so much I do not know.
