It seeks especially those aspiring young authors with an innovative approach to the art. In order to achieve this goal, Dark Side offers services ranging from simple advice to in-depth consultation to members and non-members alike, and works to create publication opportunities, in all possible forms, for all skilled authors. Please keep in mind that this group lives at http://www.darksidetomagic.com, so it doesn't necessarily act like other Writing.com groups. Many of our authors are dedicated members of WDC, however, so we've set up a branch right here! About Us The Dark Side to Magic is a premier online community for young authors. Still in its infancy, the community is the brainchild of group leader J. B. Anthony. The group contains numerous authors who have been published in magazines and short story collections as well as various online sites, such as Associated Content. Aside from the short stories, novels, and collections written by members and published by Dark Side, the community also provides creative writing courses and advice to aspiring authors. Members of the Dark Side community are all semi-professional, published authors with a passion for writing. Membership is by invitation only, but aspiring authors are always welcome to show an interest and submit sample pieces for membership consideration. Furthermore, individuals are welcome to email the group or a specific member with questions about the group or their own writing. While the community exists to give its members and other aspiring authors a resource for developing as writers, the eventual goal of any author is to publish their work. Dark Side helps its members publish by organizing, printing, and selling novels, collections, and other works. Our shops will be open for business soon! Dark Side is a non-profit group - aside from small stipends to keep our materials online, all income goes directly to the authors. Services Aside from the opportunities afforded to our members, the Dark Side makes itself available to aide other authors. Various articles, videos, and other materials authored by our members will be made available to the general public. These will address all aspects of writing, from mechanics to genres to inspiration. And there's much more to come! Our Members The Dark Side community is comprised of people with a passion for writing. Our members have all been published in some form, whether in print, within a print collection, or online. More importantly, members of the Dark Side group write because they love writing, and are always willing to help others develop their own talents. How and Why to Contact our Members Each member of the Dark Side community is there to help aspiring authors in any way they can. For various reasons, membership in the Dark Side group is limited. Our resources are not unlimited, and the vast majority of members are college students with other careers in the works. Nonetheless, we are always on the lookout for talented young authors seeking to join our ranks. As stated, membership is by invitation only. That being said, anyone hoping to join our ranks is welcome to submit a sample of his/her writing to j.b.anthony@writing.com for consideration. Accessory information, such as links to other works online, is also appreciated. Please include the word "Membership" in the subject line of any email regarding membership.
