I am a writer (I've had over a million words in print - computer manuals, it's true, but it still qualifies me!). I try to write things that are different and off-beat, but I'm close to breaking down and writing something trashy to make some money. I shouldn't be so snobbish, mind, Graham Greene used to write 'entertainments' when the baby needed new shoes, and I would be proud (and amazed) if I was ever in company like that....
