I left public high school in the rear seat of a squad car headed for Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall & never returned. I started writing poetry in a court school situated in the garage at Serenity House, a residential troubled youth program in San Mateo County, CA; I was 17. Our teacher encouraged us to become creative and so I did. She had our works bound into the Serenity Court Journals. I thought that was pretty cool. I've been writing ever since & I still have that garage within me. Thank you Annette. I now live in Northeast Ohio where I work as a stone cutter.
