A humorous look at at the miasma of facts foisted upon our senses daily
STATISTICS

I sometimes ponder the structure of a word wondering if it’s personality is not disclosed there-in. Take statistics as an example. Here we have a word so nefarious yet so blatant, it’s a wonder people who employee it aren’t lynched. Why this evil trickster even surpasses the word trickster in it’s objective. Trickster, you expect to be devious and it’s structure indicates it’s purpose in it’s proud display of double crossed T’s. Where-as statistics endeavors to project authority while all the time laughingly displaying it’s nature with triple crossed T’s. Now any fool can calculate triple crossed T’s equal (give me a minute here) hmm, that’s uh 3+3 no, ten no, uh, oh yeah twelve 90 degree angles. It appears to me that any study making use of so many angles just naturally will end up at cross purpose with society in general. Further any person quoting this crooked bastard has clearly placed themselves in thrall to it’s evil intent. There are three types of liars, “Liars, damn liars, and statistics”, so stated Mark Twain while crediting Benjamin Disraeli for the insight. Mr. Twain further noted, “America has only one clearly criminal class in it’s society and that class is Congress”. Isn’t it interesting government is the number one purveyor of statistics--yes very interesting.
