A Day To Remember

A DAY TO REMEMBER

Unwittingly, it begins at night;
Windows up, The pillow tucked
softly and cooly under one cheek,
as curtains inflate slowly
with gentle swells of fresh-smelling
air, that quickly consoles you into
a deep, restful, sleep.

The dawn arrives and eyes open to a
chorus of birds and insects
whose songs are different from
past weeks, and may well have been
produced and orchestrated especially
for this day!

Robins whistling, crickets chirping,
locust in unison humming ever so softly
and building to a full crescendo,
greet and welcome you to one of life's
truly majestic moments.

As you are mystically drawn outside
a warm, friendly sun glows comfortingly
and reassuringly on your face while a
cool breeze circles gently around you.
A healing and transformation of thought?

Background cottonwoods seem to
quietly applaud in a stirring, whispering
tone with each billowing breeze, as if
noting their approval and then quickly
settle down to a slight sway and a fickle
wave-awaiting a certain encore.

The sun advances and midday brings with it
shades of blue pastels, etched with carefully
lined wisps of soft, white,
feather-like brush strokes;
as if each one was personally
added by the ALMIGHTY HIMSELF!

With evening approaching
the spectacular finale begins.
The blues of the sky once more subtle
become richer.
The breeze once cool
is now--momentarily crisp--
but only to capture your attention.
A slight chill causes you to look westward.
The sun has cooled and swelled to an
awesome size while emanating lovely
hues of pink, yellow, and orange.

For a moment you are stunned
with its' magnificent brilliance and beauty-
and just for a second you catch
a glimpse of what
heaven must be like.
You have just witnessed one of
God's miracles
AND A DAY TO
REMEMBER!
