It was about a week after my father died when I picked up a pen and wrote this. I really do believe he was standing there, next to me, telling me what to write. I then gave it to my mother who was having such a hard time accepting that a man she had been married to, loved and nurtured for 50 years was no longer by her side.
REJOICE, DO NOT MOURN FOR ME
Rejoice, do not mourn for me,
It is I who shall mourn for you
For I have entered God’s Kingdom,
While you still toil the Earth
Rejoice do not mourn for me,
I bask in the Shadow of the Lord,
My soul alive with his love.
You may mourn my body, but it is not me.
I have passed through the gates of Death
And dwell in the Garden of Angels
Rejoice, do not mourn for me,
No pain do I feel, no sorrow breaks my heart.
I am dancing in the light of Jesus
Happy as a child as
I wait for you.
