A daughter is stolen from her family and her origins keep secret from her.
"They found another solar system!" Max said dropping his tray of food unceremoniously onto the table. Ivory looked up at him from her work and half done tray of food.
"What's so upsetting about them finding another solar system?" She asked.
"Well," he sad sitting down at the table and picking at his food, "we may never get to go to any of these so called ruins they may find on any of these planets until they are all picked over and there is no use in us going to them anymore!" Ivory chuckled.
"Don't be such a big baby Max and be lucky we get to go to these planets and their ruins at all."
"I can't-it's not fair! How will I ever be able to make a name for myself if those old crows, who name their selves archeologists, keep taking the good assignments for their selves. That is a rhetorical question, don't bother answering it." Ivory sighed and continued on her paper she had been writing before Max had burdened her ears with his troubles and worries.
"Ivory..." Someone whispered but Ivory was so tuned into her writing that she didn't notice that someone was calling her name.
"Ivory..." The same voice whispered again sending a chill down her spine that made her shiver and look up. Max was still sulkily poking at his food, so she knew he couldn't be the one calling to her. She looked around the crowded cafeteria for someone looking in her direction trying to catch her eye, but she found no one. Shrugging the voice away from her memory and yet not quite succeeding she continued on with her work.
"Ivory!" The voice shouted. Ivory jumped and looked up and about her wildly looking for the voice calling her name. Max looked up from his food finding her behavior strange.
"Ivory?" He asked her reaching out to touch her hand. Ivory looked at him and Max's hand froze midway between them hovering there as if he seemed wary of touching her but also weary of not.
"Ivory?" She sighed and silently berated herself for acting so out in a public area. She nodded her head at Max and stood up gathering her belongings together.
"I have been working to hard, I missed the med call I will go and take them now. Sorry that I have acted so here." She apologized knowing that that would be the only way to explain her jumpiness.
"Well them you must go and take them at once! You know how you get when you don't-as a matter of fact I will escort you there myself." Max said stuffing the rest of his food into his mouth with a vengeance.
