Orion's Testicle

On earth, it is a common belief that we are in fact the only polulated planet in the galaxy.
In reality however, this is quite wrong.
if you were to travel to Orion, a closer inspection would reveal that there is in fact life in another solar system.
It is the star in the middle of Orion’s belt which contains another populated planet.
And by some strange and inconceivable chance, Human like creatures has evolved on the 2nd and larger planet of that solar system.
This planet is called by many names.
it's right and proper name is Orion II. However, as the race that exists there went through successive technological revolutions, they mastered the art of inter-solar system travel. When the first spacecraft escaped the solar system, and could see the entire Orion constellation, the spacecraft's flight officer realised that the planet was positioned in rather the amusing way.
It was placed just below the middle star which is shaped unusually like an rectangle. the planet was a huge ball underneath and slightly to the left. Orion 1, however, was slightly to the right. The ship's dirty minded flight officer found this very funny and told a joke about it to the ship's captain.
The captain noticed this, and (like most of the people of Orion) was also dirty minded. She laughed, and ever since, the planet has been referred to as Orion's Testicle.

Orion's testicle is a planet almost identical to earth, with mountains, lakes, trees, animals, fish, and all that. It also shares the same problems that earth does, such as Tele-marketers, Insurance salesmen, Chavs, and a hated Christian folk singer, named after a geological formation.
There are the same social classes to, posh nobs, rich kids, poor paupers and all the kind of people you'd expect on earth. However, unlike on earth were the great days of Rock and Roll are fading away, on Orion's testacle; it has been traditional for millennia, ever since Coppa-Hot Air Balloons' first rock song 3000 years ago. There are also a lot more weirdos, both the good kind and the bad.
The only striking difference to Earth is how the planet is made up. Earth's core is made of solid Iron, and is about 6000 degrees, followed by a liquid outer core, then the molten rock mantle. On Orion, The entire centre is water and an unknown, perfectly harmless but very heavy gas.
The gas inside the planet makes the water inside the planet float on the gas, and makes it ebb and flow, fall like a waterfall or shoot up like a geyser, depending on the pressure of the gas underneath. When the inhabitants of the planet discovered the planets centre, they immediately made special craft to traverse this new area. These were in the form of immense rafts, which where used to ride the water currents, making for an incredibly exciting expedition, what with the endless joy of plummeting down a waterfall, only to be shot up seconds later by a huge geyser, then facing the floating rapids on the water currents.
The researches made a sport out of it, calling it Floatsurfing. If one of the researchers fell in, everyone on board would laugh as he was taken under, then fall into the gas underneath, causing more pressure, then to be shot out into the water again. It seemed very difficult for someone to drown in, since the water wasn't very deep, and the gas underneath was breathable.
Today, that same sport has evolved into a huge hobby, with millions of idealistic youths everyday taking to the sea. Nowadays, teenagers ride it on Floatboards, like the surfboards of Earth, only more high tech.

Our story is localised around one such teenager.



Chapter 1- Band Practice


Music can be defined as in many ways much like life. It’s full of highs and lows, starts of with a slow introduction and ends with a huge finish. Every song is different to each other, much like how every life is different to each other. There are sad songs for the depressive life, happy songs for the happy, and love songs for the more romantic amongst us. On Orion II, music is practically life, since most inhabitants spend their lives trying to be the best of their time in musical advancement.
This generation’s battle of the bands will be told from the perspective of a teenage girl at her musical practice, and the unusual events that take place in her life.
