A $10.00 donation you can help soldiers in Iraq deal with 120 degree heat. |
Operation “Cool Our Troops” was started July 2, 2003 and has been a huge success. Cool Our Troops is an effort to 'Cool' our troops in the Middle East. We are currently raising funds to send personal misters to military personnel serving in Iraq, namely, the Soldiers of the 3rd Infantry Division of Fort Benning, Georgia. The misters are portable, no batteries or electricity required, and rely on evaporation to cool surrounding temperatures by 20-30 degrees. For more information on these, visit Misty Mates on the web at http://www.mistymates.com Temperatures are steadily rising every day in the desert where our men and women are serving. July is said to bring temperatures of 130 degrees, so you can imagine just how much these will be needed and appreciated! HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP: You can be personally responsible for boosting morale and providing relief to one of our own serving in Iraq by donating to 'Cool Our Troops.' For every $10 donated, one of our troops will get a Misty Mate personal mister. HOW CORPORATIONS AND ORGANIZATIONS CAN HELP: 1. We are asking for companies to get in the real game and sponsor battalions or units with your corporate donation. 2. Are you in the media? Donate some airtime to help get our message across. 3. Are you a PR firm? Donate your services to send our message nationwide. 4. Customize you own special plan to support these efforts. No one knows your company's resources better than you. Thank You for your Support! On May 24th, 2005 it was 107 degrees in Iraq. My son is in Iraq, and is part of the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Benning, Georgia. We, the parents, wives, and loved ones of the Soldiers of the 3rd Infantry Division need 150 misters for our sons, husbands, and fathers. I wish I had the whole $1500.00 needed, I would buy all 150 "Misty Mates" so my son and his unit can survive in the incredible heat in Iraq. Soldiers are kinda funny- seems even if I send my son one, he won't use it because his buddies don't have one. I guess it is a Military thing - I can respect that!!! If you cannot send $10.00, then could you consider contributing some gift points to help me keep CoolOurTroops.Com listed under the sponsored items. Thank You, A Soldier's Mother The Critic |
