A man bitten by a vampire, finding he cannot control himself seeks revenge!
The Journal of Thantos Kane

Chapter One

My name is Thantos Kane. For years now I have had this journal, but I have never written in it. Perhaps one day I will get past the leather binding and write in it.

Let me tell you bout myself. I am a wealthy young man of thirty-five. I own and operate a printing press down on 3rd street. I used to be married, but my wife died giving birth to our daughter. That was nearly twenty years ago, since then I have done nothing but work. My daughter has gown up, and married. My how time flies.

Well, that is about enough about me for right now, perhaps one day I will find the need to write something important down in this journal.

May 10, 1225

Well, I guess now would be a good time to start writing in my journal. I just had my forty-fifth birthday, and I couldn’t be happier. My daughter just had her first-born toady, a daughter of her own. Now she can experience the feeling of parenthood for herself. Just think of it, next year we can celebrate my birthday, and the day after we can celebrate my granddaughters.

Last night I spent the night out with some of my friends and celebrated my good fortune. I awoke this morning laying in the gutters, my shirt soaked in blood, and a empty feeling inside of me. I felt so sick that I thought I was going to die. So I figured I had better write down what I remembered form the night just in case.

After I left the bar, I walked home, taking a shortcut through that creepy old graveyard at the outskirts of town. I walked through there, and I saw this ghastly… thing. I have no idea what it was, so hen I continued walking and as I exited the graveyard I felt as if someone, or something was following me… and after that I can’t remember a thing. Isn’t that weird? Was I that drunk that I just fell down and passed out cold? Or was it something else? Something unexplainable? If I was just so drunk, I should remember something after leaving the graveyard shouldn’t I? I mean I woke up nearly two miles from there!

What has happened to me! I feel sick all he time. I can't eat or drink
anything. I stay up all night, lying on the floor holding my hurting stomach,
curled up in a ball like a cat.

All I remember from before it happened was I was walking home after celebrating at the bar. The next morning I found myself lying in the ditch covered with blood, but no trace of a wound anywhere. Did I murder someone? If so, who? Why haven't I heard anything about a murder then?

Well I guess that last question is easy to answer. I haven't heard anything
about it because I have been at home, I find myself fearing to go outside in
the sun. The mere glimpse of the golden light makes my eyes burn with a strange
kind of pain that I am unable to describe. I opened my desk drawer, to take out something, and noticed my old cross sitting in there, but when I picked it up it burned my hands!

What has happened to me? Am I going crazy? Did I murder someone, and just don't
remember? God... I wish I could just remember.

I guess my memory is fading fast, I already wrote some of this down in my journal, oh god, I hope I can get through this. Maybe I just have amnesia or something.

I guess I have finally found something to write in my journal. I feel like I am going to die, if so, I wish to leave everything I own to my daughter and her husband, and if that bastard ever hurts her, I want him to know that I will come back to haunt his ass for all time!

Today I found myself crawling under my bed to escape the light shining in
through my window. I fell asleep instantly, even though I had just woken up
minutes before. I was so tired, and I have no idea why.

I woke up just as the sun sank below the hills, just as the last of the dimming
light disappeared. I crawled from underneath my bed, I felt renewed. I felt like
I was a completely different man.

I walked outside my home. I smelled something, something I had smelled before
but now the smell was stronger as if my senses had become enlightened. I
followed the smell, as I got closer I began breathing harder, and I could feel
something sharp poke my tongue. I opened my mouth and felt around. I had
two long sharp teeth. This frightened me, but at the same time it intrigued
me.

I could tell that what I smelled was getting closer to me. I stepped off
into the shadows and waited. A young woman came walking out of the alley
between two old stone buildings. Suddenly I felt that I could no longer hold back
my urge, and I attacked.

After satisfying my thirst, it was as if I was returned to normal, I looked at
my blood soaked hands and began to cry. This time I knew it was I who had
killed. I looked down at the body of the young woman I had brutally murdered
and feasted upon. Her long blonde hair covered her face. I brushed it
aside. What I saw shocked me, and frightened me for all time. I had just
murdered my own daughter!

Chapter Two

May 30, 1225

Today, or should I say tonight, I sat at home. I just couldn't believe it; I had killed my own daughter!

I was just sitting in my chair next to the fireplace; the fire had gone out hours before. I didn't feel like getting up to light it again. I just sat in my chair with my face buried in my hands... crying.

I heard a knock at the door. I slowly climbed to my feet. I walked over to the door and opened it. Before me I saw two men both wore police office uniforms. They told me they were inspecting the murder of a young woman found dead this morning, and that they had been told she was my daughter.

I told them that was correct. They asked me a whole bunch of questions, by this time my urge to feed was boiling up inside me. They just wouldn't leave.

Suddenly without warning I sprung up, biting one of them in the neck and gashing a hole in the other one's neck with my claws. Neither had time to make a sound. Blood poured down onto the wooden floor like a violent rainstorm. I fed upon both of their bodies until my urge was gone.

June 23, 1225

It has been nearly a month since I wrote in this...journal. I no longer care about it; it just takes up time. Since my last journal entry I have killed over fifty victims. My taste for blood is growing stronger, and I find myself needing to feed more and more. I can feel my powers growing, my strength is incredible, and I can vanish from sight with just a thought. Vanish from one spot and appear in another just like that!

Mortals no longer matter to me, they are like pest, they need to be eradicated. I'm just the one to do it.

June 29, 1225

Today, I saw my daughter for the first time since I killed her. She was feeding upon a young man, sucking the blood from... well from somewhere. Apparently she had lured him into the dark alley using her feminine qualities, I did not disturb her while she was feeding, I waited until later.

I confronted her in the middle of the street, while no one was around. I just appeared out of the darkness. She saw me and came running to me gleefully. She was very happy to see me, though she didn't understand why I had killed her.

I told her that I had no idea it was she, and that I was sorry. We spent the rest of the night talking. Her powers were nothing compared to mine. I showed her how I could vanish from sight, leaving only my shadow behind. She was very impressed; it was good to see her again. I felt happy for the first time since her death.

Suddenly the door was bashed down and several men came running in, crosses stretched out in front of them, and stakes in the other hand. I had no choice but to escape, leaving my daughter behind. I could hear her scream as a stake was driven into her heart. I have no idea how they found us, but I will make them pay for killing my daughter!

Chapter Three

July 4, 1226

After over a year of searching, I have finally found the men responsible for the second death of my beloved daughter!

Oh how I will make them pay for what they have taken from me! I will slit their throats and drain their blood from their bodies; I'll skin them alive! I will make their deaths as painful as I can, if I am able to control myself, and keep myself from killing them right off.

These men, they seem to be part of some religious cult, and they seem to take the idea of vampirism very seriously. They are a threat to all my fellow brothers of the night; I must take care of them.

July 5, 1226

Tonight, I broke into the church of the religious cult. They came at me with their pathetic crosses and holy water, as if that water they bless is worth piss. They tried to drive stakes into my heart, but they were so scared of me all I had to do was look at them and they practically shit their pants. I slit their throats and left them to bleed to death on the cold stone floor of their own church.

They seemed very surprised that I was able to enter the church... holy ground, what a joke. It's just another building, a building built on the same soil as millions of others, nothing special about it.

After exiting the building I proceeded to set it on fire. Those bastards that killed my daughter may not burn in hell, but they were sure as hell burning then!

July 6, 1226

Today I began thinking about my life. About my daughter, and what it would be like if she were still alive.

What have I done, I have become a monster. It wasn't those cult members fault she was dead... it was mine. If I had only been more careful in choosing my victims, she would still be alive! What have I become... a monster is what I have become. I am to blame for the deaths of hundreds of people... I can feel my humanity leaving me, as if I am dying and the demon inside me is taking control. "AHHHHH"...

It's not my fucking fault that damn bitch is dead; she should have been quicker to escape. Yes you may be right, it's not the religious cult's fault she is dead... think about it you fool, who made you who you are! That's the person responsible... remember him. Shit, almost sunup, I must rest until dawn.

July 7, 1226

When I awoke tonight, I took a look at my journal. I saw the writing, the last journal entry, that last part, it's my handwriting, but I have no recollection of writing it.

I know what's happening to me though, as my curse progresses, I faze in and out, becoming the demon, then back to my normal self. The demon inside of me wants out, and it its taking control of me, there is nothing more I can do to stop it. It is even hard to write while I am my normal self now days, the demon is taking control of me mentally and physically. I can't fight it any longer... I must remember the night when I was bitten, I must remember the person who bite me... and kill him!

Chapter Four

July 13, 1226

I’ve found him; I have finally found that son of a bitch, the bastard who bite me, the bastard that is responsible for the death of my daughter. The bitch is going to pay! I’ll do more than hurt him; I’ll kill him, not too quickly, but very, very slow. I want to see the pain in his face as I take him apart piece by piece.

I know now, that I have no humanity left in me, I have no conscious left, I have no soul, and nothing left in the mortal world to worry me. Tonight I will kill the man… no the monster, that is responsible for all my pain that I have felt, for these long months. I will let nothing stand in my way; no one will be able to stop me. After I kill him, his power will be mine for the taking.

You fool, you can’t kill him yet. We are not powerful enough yet! We must kill, and kill, drink the blood of mortals to become more powerful, only then shall we become more powerful then he. We must also kill other immortals, this will be a much, much quicker way to become powerful, Ha heh ha heh.

Once again, I found this writing in my journal, the inner demon inside me is coming out, and I can’t control it. I see that I am now referring to myself when I write in the journal as “we”. At least he left some good advice for me, huh; kill other vampires, sounds like a good idea to me. I will the most powerful vampire to ever live, and then I will kill that stupid fuck and avenge my daughter’s death!

Chapter Five

July 23, 1226

Ha! After killing off some of the… competition, I will now be able to kill my adversary, and put an end to his reign of terror, so mine will be able to begin!

Yes, end his life, and take his power for ourselves! We will be the most powerful vampire that has ever lived. Nobody will be able to stand up to our might! Not even that religious cult that attacked us, those weeks ago, they are nothing but stupid fools if they think they can control the world of the vampire. We can kill, without reason or cause once the master vampire Notorio is out of the way, we will make him pay for the death of your daughter. We will slaughter him, make his pain go on and on, and the world will be ours!

Yes, they are no match for us, but have you forgotten about the others, the new arrivals in town? Have you forgotten that the famous vampire hunter Orion Katana is here in town, and has been hired by the mayor to hunt down the cause of the many recent deaths, have you forgotten?

DON”T! Make a mockery of me you imbecile! He will be nothing. Now let us leave this city and follow Notorio, let us take his life and his power, and move on to a bigger better place, full of life. We will rule this world in no time, and not even some fuck, calling himself a vampire hunter will be able to stop us once Notorio is dead and his powers ours!

Chapter Six

January 29, 1230

It has been awhile since our last journal entry… but nonetheless we have completed our mission. We tracked that bastard and killed him this very night! Let us write the full description down so years from now, we may look back and remember our most glorious day!
