Surprise, surprise, another sad story of mine! :(
I shudder at your shadow slipping over me
I cringe and cry and crawl back into the unrelenting wall
There’s so much hatred in your eyes, I wonder if you can see me
Do you even care about my broken body at all?
My throat is crushed; I can barely breathe
My eyes are swollen shut; I can’t see if you’re gonna hurt me more or leave
You broke both of my wrists because I tried to fight back
What did I do this time to deserve such a brutal attack?
I can’t move my leg; I tried to lift it and almost screamed
But don’t worry, I know better, oh god, please don’t keep hitting me!
The patches of pain will fade to black and blue
I sob to myself and wonder how you can be so cruel
I want so badly to just leave this terrible place
Have all my painful memories erased
But I can hardly move, so I lay my head down on the floor and admit defeat
The pain is so intense, I can’t even imagine trying to get to my feet
I look around and hope to see a phone, my eyes barely open
But then I realize that’s what you took out of the room before you came to me;
I don’t know why I even let that one bit of hope in
My heads drops back to the floor and I suffer silently
The only reassuring thought is that this can’t last forever,
My body will soon be too far gone to go on and I can finally be free
