Written for my "adopted" brothers - |
SOMEWHERE IN ETERNITY Once we fought together in Korea, just boys who became men too fast; seeing our comrades fall beside us - Memories that will forever last. So clear the scenes of destruction, so clear the voices as they call and from somewhere in eternity - they urge us on to "Stand Tall!" Somehow we made it back alive, forever changed and vowed to be a band of brothers - still together; still fighting to stay free. God will greet you with a handshake and a salute for all you've done; Scarred and bleeding, you are home now, another time and another battle won! We can face the memories willingly, and we move on, content to be - sharing all that we've been through, saving our part in war's history. There once was Christmas in July, and those of us who can't forget, will write another heartfelt chapter in the story of how grown men wept. Together we can make a difference and let the world see through our eyes that war will never be behind us for we still hear the battle cries. Souls that wander through the ages are not alone and cannot ever be forgotten by the world of tomorrow; we live on - somewhere in eternity. Countrymom 2/19/05 |
