We can all relate to this.
Late at night
I sit up in bed
And look at the stars
Blinking overhead

I watch the blinding lights
Of cars driving by
And feel a twinge of loneliness
Which I can’t fight no matter how hard I try

My breath makes a cloud on my window
A cloud on the cold glass
I write with my finger
I hate loneliness

And as I hear
Some other kids making their way home
I’m suddenly quite aware
That I’m completely alone

I feel as if a tsunami wave
Has washed all my friends away
Though I know they’re all asleep
Dreaming of another day

And though I know I have my friends
I still feel alone, you see
And something tells me
I’ll always be.
