Pastor travels to Norway

Rock Pifer has long dreamed of sharing God's word with a broader audience -- touching other lives with messages of faith.

That dream will be fulfilled next month, as the Rev. Pifer travels
to Norway, where he'll share his insights on the topic of prayer with
Christians in that Scandinavian nation.

"This has been a secret desire of my heart for many years," the Rev. Pifer told the Endeavor. "It is amazing how God gives us the
desire of our heart."

Pifer, now in his 10th year as a clergyman, is being invited by
the College of Prayer International. He and his wife Sherri are raising the money to pay for the trip. They are friends with the leaders of the College of Prayer and believe in its mission, which is to mentor and support pastors, church officials and other spiritual leaders.

"We have been studying, and participating in the College of Prayer, in hopes of helping our local church and any others in the area who are interested in growing close to God through prayer," the Rev. Pifer said.

The Pifers will stay for ten days and teach in the cities of Stavanger and Drammen. Their ten-year old son, Luke, will join them on
the trip.

The message Rev. Pifer will deliver in Norway is one of hope and comfort. He explained, "The founder of the College of Prayer, Armin
Gesswein, said it best: 'Jesus did not pray about things, but brought
things about by prayer.' As Christians, we need to do the same."

Pifer is the pastor for both the Free Methodist Church and the Gardeau Community Church. At one time, he was pastor of three
local congregations. He also serves on the Keystone Conference Board
of Administration and is president of the Ministerial Association.
