A poem based upon the legend of 1,000 paper cranes.
The Crane

Its shiny colours sparkle in the dim light
An illusion of gold
Shiny paper reflecting what the purpose is
I fold the square into a triangle
She looks over
Over and and over again until the diamond replaces the gold jewel
Jewels in her smile, light shines through her eyes
Rosy cheeks and pale covers

The diamond is folded once more
It becomes easier
The end is in reach
She reaches for it
Chubby hands

Hands used for more folds to complete it
Air runs through
Puffs up like the puffer fish
From the beach, do you remember?
We tie it together
Little stars too
It hangs from the string for everyone to see
The sparkles are like sun light
She loves it like the wind
Wind comes through the windows
Disrupts her
She's trying to create one too
Keep on going love, many more will do.
