An emperor from an unknown land finally sees the meaning of his life. |
I have seen all there is to see, beyond a radiant horizon that lies before me- sunlight shimmering against my majestic walls where ruby colors dance upon pale, white stone trimmed in silver and gold and highlighted with the finest oils. Lavender and emerald shades stretch across meadows that glow with visionary illustration, displayed upon a water-soaked canvass of exquisiteness. And from my chamber window, I see all there is to see. I am adorned in my finest wears; my left hand gently caress the value of lavish metals hanging lightly against my firm shoulder blades like a feather floating in the summer’s breeze. My long, shadowy hair flows vagrant, a simple recognition of my elegance, disguised in fabulous wealth. The mountains willingly bow before my presence, so humble are they; I hold within my hand the dominance of the gods above, who are waiting without a doubt for my reign to come to its fateful end. I have seen all there is to see, yet one small detail allows itself unseen; concealed from my eyes, hiding within darkness, destined to be. A thing called love for never have I dreamed of myself believing the trivial emotion that only peasants seem to share. Nonetheless, I have perceived its strength, its ability to overpower my senses. How it controls my every will, every thought to be. My eyes have gazed upon humility and felt weakened by love’s sovereignty. Oh, how the simplicity of life unfolds before me! |
