an interesting read if anyone likes horror/fantasy. and vampires
It all started a few hundred years ago now, I know to you who will read these a hundred years seem so long but when you have lived for millennia’s as I have a few hundred doesn’t seem like that long. In your mortal years you only life for years maybe not even one hundred but for me, living immortal as I am I will never age, nor die. Which to mortals seems all too inviting but really it isn’t. I have been a vampire since my birth; I am a true blood as they call me. Which means that I was born of a mortal mother and an immortal father? True blood vampires age until they are the mortal age of 16 and then they become truly immortal.
It all started with the first vampire who was a mortal man who was subject to a genetic experiment when he was a young boy. While still in his mothers womb his DNA was mixed with that of a bats and the outcome was a race which spread like wild flower. I am a direct descendant from this man whom is called Ares, he is my father and my mother well she was killed during the Great War between the humans and us the immortals which I will get into later.
My name is Dante as I am called by the mortals. My father has been a prosperous immortal who has been great in the mortal world, allowing me to go to school, night school that is where I am learning the mortal ways which I need to survive and our own history through out the years.
My father was one of many who were changed by this experiment we all are a pack who prey on the living for their blood in order to survive. Once there were hundreds, o that’s the wrong word I mean to say there were millions of us. It started with the four firsts and then their children and so on. But some got too careless and in the three years of the 2003 many of us were killed in a battle with the humans. They found our beds while we slept and many of us were killed in a battle with the humans. They found our beds while we slept and came pulled them out into the harsh sunlight and they perished. The light of day burning the flesh from so many, all that was left of them to blow away in ashes, those poor retches. Some they tortured, ripped the fangs from their mouths, starved them into the point where hunger becomes ravages and uncontrollable then they would kill them.
The thought of it even now hundreds of years later still makes me cringe with sadness and distraught. My family and I managed to survive barely; until my mother that is was killed by the firsts not by my father but the others for she knew our secrets and was suspected of leaking them to the humans. My father and I were spared because we were immortals but my father was so mad and despaired for he loved my mother very deeply and knew she would never betray him. She had been innocent. After that we traveled to a remote little island off the coast of Greece called Crete. It was a beautiful island where the girls there smell of sweet oils, exotic fruits, and with long dark hair, slender bodies, the taste of their blood is like no other I have ever found.
In the present my father and I keep our ideates established as him a night club owner and me the young student for even in the night I could hardly pass for twenty. As for my father his long black hair and porcelain skin had aged more than mine for he had been an immortal for many millennia and his deathly pale skin he seemed a man in his late twenties when he dressed with the times. I have my mothers looks, I have short blond hair, blue eyes, pale white skin as doth most of us immortals do, I usually dress in the fashion of today’s college students. Blue jeans, white t-shirt, jock coat and a ball cap. I somehow have managed to get away from the manly immortal trait of long hair like my fathers. I can also go out in the light which I figure I must have inherited from my mother. I can see the sun rise, the sun set but I mostly sleep during the day not because I have to like the others of my kind but because I enjoy the night life here on the island.
I have mortal friends whom I go to school with from time to time when I am not busy helping Ares with the club. It is surprising how you mortals love your night life and even don’t have the slightest clue when my kind bites your neck that you will die. It’s a game to you…..but it’s survival for us.
Recently, I have met a girl well I have been watching her for quit sometime but only have dated her in the past few months. I have well got to know her. She is 18 and the most beautiful I have ever laid eyes on, she has long brown hair, green eyes, slender sleek body and a beautiful mouth and neck. My father told me that the immortal (Vampires) fall in love differently then the mortals, our love is a deep love that is much stronger and we are very passionate lovers. He said that a vampire knows he has found the woman that he is meant to be with when you meat a girl who stirs him in such away that drinking her blood is of no concern. She will accept the vampire for what he is. With out fear or pity she will take the vampires blood in a kiss of true passion. I believe that and as for this girl I don’t know as, for hunger her blood I do not smell as doth the others. She beacons me with her eyes and I can read that she cares for me in her mind.
I have all an eternity but she has only now. I have studied how the mortals court so I figure I’ll try it their way.
“Hey, Athena, want to go to the dance with me on Friday?”
“Sure Dante, I was hoping you would ask me.”
I was right I thought to myself.
“Ok, sure see you at the club around seven”, ok I said.
“Sure Dante, see you there.”
I could hear it as plainly as if she were directly talking to me, her going on about how mysterious I was and handsome. I knew she was the one for me; all I had to do was play it cool and wait for the prefect moment to let her know what I really am.
The Friday came and I slept most of the day because I only could stand a few classes throughout to keep me sane. I awoke some time after five, dressed in my black attire: black jeans, white t-shirt and shoes. I was both my own style and fashionable at the same time. I went to the club found a few drunks and lured them out back. And then drank them dry. A nice drunken mans blood in the moonlight. I cleaned myself up and went inside to meet Athena and the group. Athena was radiant in her short skirt and tank top. My father messaged me then so I excused myself and went to see him. He asked “Dante why must you socialize with those mortals?”
“Father I think I have found my bride as you told me.”
“Well go Dante go frolic with her and see what she does.”
Thus I took my father’s advice playing or flirting as you mortals call it, with her for some time, dancing with her for I was a great dancer. Then I asked her “do you want to go for a ride?”
“Yeah sure” she said
“Ok then how about we go to the old temple it’s beautiful this time of year at night?”
“Sure Athena whatever you want.”
We said our goodbyes to the group and went out, got in my Jaguar and drove off into the night. She had been right; the temple of Ares “My father” was beautiful in the moonlight. You see when my father and I first came here years go the Greek people thought he was some sort of God of War and built this temple of course that time has been long gone. I decided I would let her kiss me without my fangs for a while thus I leaned close and kissed her. She kissed me back with a passion I never knew before. The sweet except of the kiss overwhelmed me then I pulled back and said “Athena what if I were to tell you that I was immortal.”
“Well Dante I would say your different but why ask you can’t be serious are you?”
“Well Athena I am afraid I am very serious, I am not a mortal as you are. I have been in existence for five hundred years on this island, my father and I am not what we seems we are what you call vampires.”
“Dante stop playing, your not serious.”
Then she looked into my eyes and said “Oh my god you are telling the truth.” “You believe me Athena.”
“I do Dante.”
“You mean you believe me and what I have just told you and are not frightened.”
“No I am not Dante.”
I leaned close, cut my hand with the knife I had brought dipped my finger in before it healed and smeared it over her lips and kissed her. The kiss lasted for what seemed the longest minutes of my life but no nearly long enough.
When I felt the hunger not for her but for blood in general I pulled away.
“What’s wrong” she said.
“I have to go Athena, I can’t stay with you. I may become irrational so please go; it’s only just down the hill.”
And then it happened the hunger was over whelming it was too great I couldn’t control it any longer. I tried to fight it but I could not I was so hungry. I ran after her…..part of me wanted to hunt her down but the part that loved her was shouting “Go Athena, run don’t stop no matter what you hear.”
I let out loud moans and cries fighting the hunger until I could not control my body. As if in a daze I remember running after Athena pulling her towards my body, I heard her crying, screaming.
“Dante get away from me if there is any of the gentle being I met tonight, please let me go.”
“Ahh my dear he is gone for the moment let me suck your blood and maybe I shall let him return to you.”
Of course the evil in me tricked her. Only when she was on the brink of death I returned I regained my control over my body. Held her close, kissed her as she lay there in my arms saying “Why Dante, I loved you I don’t want to die Dante take me save me I know you can?”
If I knew what I know now I would have saved her but I could not bring her to this life, I loved her too much but unlike my father I was young and did not now how to control hunger. No her blood did not satisfy me as my father said it wouldn’t. I ended up being sick for weeks after. I held her that night until she looked up at me and said with her dying breath “My immortal I love you.”
Now I live a lonely life of solitude but I have learned the art of how to resurrect her I may be with her for eternity yet……

The Final End
