Tears that hint of pain inside,
Hugs that grasp what might have been,
Kisses speak of love inside.

Eyes that share emotions deep
Touches light, that ripple far
Hands that hold the other tight...
Echos from the faintest star.

Words that paint a path ahead,
Steps that break and lay uneven,
Grasping for a solid hold
Reaching for elusive reasons.

What can I say to hold your heart?
What can I do to erase your doubt?
What can I pledge to keep your love?
What can I share to keep fear out?

Hold me tight, without response
Kiss me softly, gently lingering
Feel my warmth, love is present
Never taking, always giving.
