An emotional response about my rocky relationship with my mom.
The Other Side of Mother

My mother thinks I'm a bad person because I have big breasts.
I think she's a bad person because when I cried
She sent me to my room
Because I was interrupting her watching football.

My mother thinks I'm a bad person because I'm not an athlete.
I think she's a bad person because when I said that she hurt my feelings
She laughed in my face.

My mother thinks I'm a bad person because I'm too introverted.
I think she 's a bad person because she won't stop pushing me.

I hate my mother because when she isn't criticizing me, she ignores me.
I hate my mother because know that she has a "husband" I no longer matter. She'll do things for him and not me.
I hate my mother because she's so vain she probably thinks this poem is about her.
I hate my mother because she was cruel to me.
I hate my mother because she won't admit what she did to me.

I'm so damaged.
Because my father left me and my mother is a selfish bitch.
I'll never be normal because of her, and I'll always hate her.
Look at me, the poster child for abortion.

I'm tired of making excuses for her.
I no longer care if she was single or if I was unplanned.
She didn't love me enough and nothing can make up for that.

For everyone whose mother told them they were too fat, too thin, not pretty enough, dressed badly, looked like a freak,
Told them that the rape was their fault and that they should say nothing,
Good mothers do not bring pain, good mothers protect you, good mothers love you unconditionally.
Call a bitch a bitch, and move on.
