This is the beginning of my work in progress. I would love your suggestions for it.
Lucy in the Sky

Stuff I just added appear in Violet

He woke in field of wild flowers; there was no one around. He checked his watch, but it was stopped at the precise time he had last looked at it, 5:15 PM. He shook it and shook it, but it didn’t start, not that he was expecting it to. He looked in all directions. There were ridiculously tall flowers all around him. They were bright yellow, glimmering in the bright light that overtook the sky. The brightness confused him; the sun was not out, there was nothing in the sky.

“Where am I?” He questioned aloud. He had no recollection of how he ended up in a field full of yellow flowers.

“Mr. Price,” someone called to him, “it matters no longer where you are.” A girl with shining blue eyes stepped forward.

“I have a right to know. Where am I?”

“You are where you are, and where you are is here.”

He looked at her. She was a gorgeous, blond haired girl, maybe in her early twenties. She was wearing a beautiful blue sundress that matched the color of her eyes.

         “Where is here?”

         “Here is where you are.”

He was beginning to get angry by her vague responses. When she realized this she quickly responded, “ask the right questions, Mr. Price.”

“OK, um…” he thought long and hard about how to phrase that question, “What is the name of the place we are right now?”

“Oh, well this is my flower garden, which is smack dab in the middle of Heaven.”

“Heaven, sure. No really where are we?”

“I’m growing impatient, Mr. Price. I’ve already answered that.”

His smile slowly wiped off his face, “Oh no, you’re serious. Why am I here?”

“I think you know why you’re here.” She never broke her constant smile. He thought maybe she was in capable of any other expression.

         “Sorry, how did I die?”

“Well, lets see, I’ve got a copy of your death certificate somewhere in here,” she opened her green handbag and pulled out a seven inch stack of papers. She shuffled through the pile for several minutes until she came to what she was looking for, “Ah, here it is.”

She read the card to him, “Name: Price, Richard. Time of Death: 5:15 PM. Date: 11 June 2004. Cause of Death: Hit by Train.

“That’s odd,” he did remember being at the subway station, but not near the tracks.

“You’re telling me. What were you doing in front of a train?”

“To tell you the truth, I don’t remember being near the tracks.”

“That’s normal. Sometimes people don’t remember painful deaths; it’s usually the peaceful deaths you remember. Don’t worry, with time you’ll remember. I know some pretty good shrinks who live here too. By the way," She was still smiling as she spoke, but her eyes looked troubled, "my name’s Lucy. I was never a living person; I was born in heaven...”

Although it took some time, Richard finally accepted that he was dead. He figured that maybe Heaven would be a little better than Earth. [note: I took out the part that said: "It was a lot like Earth, though. You live in a house, you wake up in the morning, and lead your life or, more appropriately, death." because 1. I didn't like it, 2. No one else liked it, and 3. It is easier to write with my imagination without it]

THATS IT SO FAR
If you are a beatles fan, you know where I got my inspiration and setting.
