A "most creative" winner in a Sherri Q contest
Lord of the Springs, King of All Things,
Please protect me in my hour of greed.
Give me hope to overcome all obstacles.
Let my little candle shine like a laser
Into the eye of the great Puzzle Mistress
Who lives on the hill.

Oh what a thrill it would be, Lord, to finally win something!
Must I ever be a loser, bouncing from false hope to failed dream
Like a Slinky on a one-way trip down the Stairway of Life?

You know this poor old Slinky can't go up the stairs Lord -
Mattel did not create me that way.
But I appreciate the fact that I never need batteries, Lord.
Please don't think that I am judging your creations.
Thou art the Number One Creator in the Universe.
I shall put no Creators before thee.

Yea, though I tread on the toes of the powerful,
Help me to say "Excuse me" at the appropriate time
And in a nice respectful voice
So that I shall not perish, but will flourish and flower
Into the fine blossom I was meant to be,
Radiant with happiness and joy
And the winner of at least one contest, Lord.
I don't see how I can be completely happy
If I don't win at least one.

But Lord of the Springs, I am not critical.
I accept my fate, whatever it may be.
Let me bounce where I may.
I embrace the pull and stretch of life.
I accept the compression.
I rejoice in the tension.
May the oscillations continue forever -
Good - Evil - Good - Evil -

And when I find myself at the bottom of the stairs
I will still declare loudly for the world to hear:
The Lord of Springs is my Lord and I am One with Him.
Amen.
