New Year

Walking down this winding road
Taking with me all my load
Going in the light of day
Seeking still to find my way

If I stumble, if I fall
If I rise to win it all
If I triumph through the night
Basking in the morning light

God will smile to see me still
Walking calmly in His will
Giving of myself to others
All my sisters and my brothers

Contemplating on my bed
‘Ninety-eight, the year ahead
Never looking up in fear
Relishing the coming year.
