A poem about something that happened to me a while back.
I don’t want to open my eyes,
I’m afraid with what I’ll see.
I’m afraid of seeing you stand there,
With your hands all over me.

I’m afraid to look into the mirror,
To see the look of pain on my face.
The memories etched into my mind,
That I can’t erase.

I couldn’t look, or run, or hide,
All I did was let you win.
Letting this daze go on and on,
Hating myself within.

I led that knife towards my arm,
Letting my flesh burn.
Time and time again,
Away I never could turn.

With your evil grin in mind,
And all the tears I cried.
Nightmares of you haunt me,
With all the lies I lied.

Keeping you a secret,
Until I could no more.
The silence of my horrid screams,
So weak, tired, and sore.
