Maybe

This is going way back...I still wonder!

I look at this child and wonder -
what kind of person will he be?
What kind of choices -
will he make in his life?
Will he choose a career -
for himself that is right?

Maybe he'll be an athlete.
The desire sure seems to be there.
He could play golf or tennis or ball.
I think there's a little -
athlete in us all.

Or maybe something in Politics,
That might be something he'd like.
Right now I'm not really sure -
as he's just a little tyke.

Maybe a fireman, policeman or lawyer,
or maybe a doctor he'll be.
The choices are endless -
for my little boy.
And watching him grow -
gives me such joy.

I'll give him support,
the best that I can,
and remind him quite often -
of how proud I am.
Because - how proud I am -
of my little man.
