Into the mystic.
Atlantic gale
flaps the carousel’s canvas
flares the steed’s nostril

Scotch Pines glazed in ice
glisten crystal neath the sun
bow to all who pass

barking seal voice
ragged revolution rage
Joe Strummer is dead

plastic news show bust
asks if I'm prepared to see
girls in body bags

""A Haw, Haw, Haw, Haw."
van dad with the windows down
rockin' to "La Grange""

rickety slat bridge
spans the cool misty chasm
I bounce up and down

a yellow finch
in scattered seed confusion
flies into the glass

a Great Blue Heron
stealthy in the meadow brook
plucks a black nosed dace

wrist’s red rivulet
pauses on a finger tip
drips to thirsty soil

pasture brook
bovine Einstein
ponders the beer can

hissing from beneath
Tomcat with the tattered ear
claims my car as his

Carolina breeze
supple willows wave and flow
slow, like seagrass
