Tears From the Past

A young girl ran down a long country road.

Her long jet black hair flying behind her in the wind.

Tears streamed from her terror stricken almond eyes.

Her young oval face distorted by fear was filled with pain.

Naked aggression rained from the skies.

She was stripped, of her clothes, skin, and her dignity.

" Why do you let them use these weapons of mass destruction on innocents, such as I ? " she cried.

But no one heard.

They were not listening then.

They are not listening now
