This isn't in the physical sense, but a spiritual thing...
So as I looked into the mirror, I asked myself, “Why should I be naked?”

What should compel me to bare it all?
Is it because I can?
Is it because everyone else is doing it?
Is it because I feel inadequate? Alone? Rejected? Unloved?

Then I thought, “We’re born naked.”

We start out naked; we’re made that way.
But I’m not sure that we’re made naked just so we can take off all our clothes
In front of each other.
Really, being naked is the first step toward God.

Being naked before God isn’t a glorious thing.
It’s being vulnerable, exposed, humbled, and disgusting to look at
With nowhere else to go.

But if God is as gracious and merciful as He says He is,
Won’t He look upon my nakedness and say, “Live”?
As He passes by my pathetic state, wouldn’t He stop to pick up the
Unclean, bloody, helpless, bastard newborn that I am
And say, “Live”?

Do you want to be naked?
To look up to God face to face
And be blown away by His grace
Toward me. Toward you.

And then He cleanses me and puts me in finest clothes
Of gold and white, royalty-like
As I grow and am formed in His image
Gradually until that day

When innumerable multitudes
Of a called, chosen, and faithful few
Stand in joyful anticipation
Representing a righteous nation
All clothed in gold and white
Radiating like a million suns shine bright
And they throw palm branches His way
As they hail the King endlessly
An eternal reality beyond the wildest fantasy

Do you want to be naked?
