A sword that give it's owner bravery, but they can't do the bravest thing of all.
"My sword! I can't retreat without my sword! The king cried as knights from the kingdom of Carnder closed in on them. "I need my sword. It was a power to give the handler bravery! So brave that he'll fight a two headed, fire breathing dragon!"
This was true. King Narshall found the sword in a field some 10 years earlier. During that time, King Narshall had conquered enemy kingdoms, saved towns from destruction by placing himself in danger. The sword gave him bravery. Now King Narshall tried to get some of his gold that the Carnderians had stolen. In the midst of the fight he lost his sword.
"There's no time sire! We have to go. Now!" One of King Narshall's knights said. The knight dragged the king on to safety.
The sword was lost!

300 years later

Tom was walking through the tall, green grass. School was boring. his History teacher, Mr. Tallie, talked about the medieval times. Tom did all he could do to stay awake. But now he was happy walking through the grass on his way home.
Tom's foot got caught on something and made him trip. With a grunt he got up. He looked, and he saw a piece of metal sticking out of the ground. Tom grabbed it and pulled it out of the ground. To his amazement it was a sword! "Wow. Now that's cool."
He looked at the blade and saw that there was a name, King Narshall, engraved into it. "I wonder who that is? I know I'll show this to Mr. Tallie!" Tom ran to the school. He dared not walk onto the school ground with a sword in his hand, so he waited outside the grounds.
To his luck, Mr. Tallie was just walking out the school doors. "Mr. Tallie! I found this sword out in the field. There's a name on it. A King Narshall. Do you know anything about him?
"Narshall?! Why, yes I do. Let me see that sword." Tom handed him the sword. Mr. Tallie looked it over. "Could it really be?"
"Be what?"
"I think this is the sword of King Narshall. He lived over 300 years ago. Legend has it that this sword gave its owner the power of bravery. Narshall lost it in a war. He was killed a few years later when the Hipsawin Kingdome invaded his. Some say that a traveler found the sword, took it over seas and buried it, for he knew that the sword would have a hold on him. You found gold, Tom. Keep that thing safe. It might be worth something."
That's what Tom did. over the years, Tom did many brave things. He joined the police force and stopped bombs that were on the verge of exploding, and saved many peoples lives.
A time came when he knew that he had to let the sword go. Give it to a museum or something, but he couldn't. He thought that he would be lost without it. He kept it.
One day when he was old, he realized that he did many brave things, but just like King Narshall he couldn't do the bravest thing of all. Let go of the sword
