If you've ever had a grown son or daughter ask to borrow money, read this...

MY Mother The Bank

I’ve seen it happen so many times before. Grown children that think their parents owe them something. Okay, All of us need help out from time to time, but I’m talking about adult men and women who think their parents should fork out money for them, just because the parent has a little savings (usually for their retirement).
It usually starts out, “Mom, can I borrow a couple hundred dollars, just for a couple of months?” the 35 year old child asks. “I promise I will pay you back.” So good Ole Mom shucks out the money and actually believes this time she might get it back. At this point I can’t figure out who the idiot is.
Months roll by and something comes up unexpectedly, as if there are any expectations in life. By the end of the year, Good Ole Mom’s got herself a tax write-off, because that loan turned into a gift.
Here’s what I’d like to see: “Son, can you loan me a couple hundred for all those times I diapered your butt and sat up with a colicky infant. I promise I’ll pay you back, just as soon as hell freezes over.”
