HE IS THERE

HE IS THERE

He is there with us every day
When we feel pain and regret;
Ready to forgive us our sins
For He's already paid the debt.

He is there when fires are raging
And the firefighters are in danger -
He is there when the earth rumbles,
And with a lost and lonely stranger.

He is there when the children
Are abused and takes them home -
He is there with grieving parents
And will not leave them alone.

He is there to lead us safely
Through the ravages of war;
He is there with dying soldiers
Bringing home so many more.

He is there when the crash is heard
Of a jetliner whose morning flight
Has been diverted and taken over
By men who believe they are right.

He is there with love and mercy
As a grandfather lies in the bed
Saying one last prayer, He hears
Every word that's said.

He is there when a drunk driver
Smashing into an oncoming car
To take home the teenager
Who was too young to die, by far.

He is there to ease the heartache
Of a love that used to be -
Each of us can see the scars,
His hands are clasped in reverie.

What would Jesus do, you ask,
If He were here with us today?
My child, He is always with you,
All you have to do is pray.

What would Jesus do today -
About the fighting and greed?
About the crimes, the murders?
Your belief is all your need

That He will do what must be done
To bring back the world so fair;
And lead us all back to the land
Beyond this earthly care!
