Fires of a Restless Soul

Hello, this is an idea I got about a year ago for a story and I've been working on it on my spare time, which seems to decrease each passing day, but anyways I would like for you to read it ( it's just the idea) and I would like your opinion on anything about it, such as: if you would read the story; it would help if I kenw that, its just the beginning but title ideas would help, or anythign else you would like to tell me about it.
So without further ado here it is....

For countless centuries man has wondered about the possibility of life after death and the
prospect of resurrection. What if man could regenerate after their life force has ebbed away to
nothingness, and if so, could it be done by will, or is it completely unaffected by the want to
come back, but rather by the unconscious necessity to right the wrongs you were unable to
achieve in your first life? There are many different stories of life after death and still more of
resurrection, but none have actually touched on the emotions associated with dying once and
trying to convince peers and officials alike that you are, in fact, who you claim you are, and also
the hardship of seeing twice or more what most people are fortunate enough to see only once.
What of the religious aspect of this? Does the resurrectee have to be an orthodox believer or do
they have to belong to a religion? In Scandinavian culture, there is a belief that if a warrior dies
in a battle they ascend to the equivalent of a Christian (and other monotheistic religions) heaven,
where they do battle with everybody else there until there is a single victor by day and by night
there is a great feast in which all the fallen warriors are resurrected to join in the festivities, this
place is called Valhalla and it is the greatest honor any Scandinavian can receive. It is also
believed that this daily fighting is preparing the warriors for Ragnarok, where Giants (the
nemesis’ of the gods) will attempt to overtake the dwellings and halls owned by the deities.
Another well known story is that of the resurrection of Jesus. In this story, a man, some religions
call a messiah, others call a prophet was killed and three days later resurrected. These are only
two of a great multitude and variety of stories.
However there are a great deal of people who do not ponder these questions. Such as
Ben Thompson, who is a man that lives by the moment. Caught up in the present and fearing the
past, Ben is just like any ordinary person you might see walking down the street going to or from
work. But Ben is not an ordinary person, Ben has such a vile past that most people only hear
about one in books and in movies but never really stop to contemplate that it could actually
belong to an actual person. But as horrendous as his past is, his future shall prove to be much
more interesting and gruesome. Nobody knows about his future and only a few people know of
his past.
