Chapter One
The Albatross

"Do I really have to read this?"he groaned. "Yes, eAvery," said the teacher. "This is worth 10 percent of your grade." she said "You will read this poem today and when you finish you will hand in a paragraph on what this poem means. That will be all." She announced to the class. The teacher walked away. "Great" The boy muttered "Now I'm stuck doing this."

The Albatross's Wandering Wren
B.B.B

There once stood a wren
So high but low
There once wrote a quill
So fast but slow
There once combined a force
That cannot be defined

Yet nothing stood a chance
Against the Albatrosses Outcry

There once stood a wren
Flying to and from a point
With a quill in one foot
And Marked wood in the other
As it goes off to meet
It's Not-of-blood Brother
There once lived a Sister
So far away from Brother
That one day he died
And she could not recover
Both were hungry for glory
As for the different towns they lived in
Their deaths would be the happiest of stories
And this, my friend
Is but the start of the Albatrosses story

"That's it?" He thought, confused."Huh, well I should probably finish that paragraph." And so he did, as he was walking towards the teacher's desk he also thought "And who is B.B.B?" He didn't have much time to think on that though, as he had just reached the teacher's desk."Ms.Woodward?" "Yes, Avery?" "Do you know who B.B.B is?" Avery asked.Ms.Woodward lowered her voice. "I shouldn't be talk be talking about this,Avery, but no one's answered that question in nearly 150 years,of course,it is just a poem, but it went on signal a war later on, so of course people wanted to know who wrote this mysterious poem and left on the mayor's doorstep." She replied.

To the look of confusion on Avery's face, she said "In the olden days, before this poem was found, there was a symbol lit up in the sky before every war, people started to call it the Albatross, and when this poem showed up, the mayor panicked, and set defenses all around New York ,and it turned out that every single mayor in America had this poem on their doorstep, and because of that they were able to somewhat survive the Paragon War(A war that affected everybody),which was called that because the war was believed to be led by a cult called The Paragon Order."

The bell rang. "O-Okay."said Avery, and he walked away to lunch. As Avery was walking towards his locker, he saw familiar flaming locks of red hair dancing past him,Willow Bell, a very nice and popular girl who Avery sometimes sat with at lunch with her friends. "Hi Avery, Bye Avery."She said in their quick interaction. "What-oh- Bye Willow!"said Avery, tiptoeing over the crowd looking for her, but she was already gone.

"Never mind." he muttered, turned back to face the sea of people, and made his slow, awkward walk to his locker, which wasn't very far away, but the crowd made it harder. When he finally reached his locker, he opened it to find a familiar brown paper bag lying in his backpack,SPAM sandwiches(You know,SPAM,the weird alternative for meat)UGH.
