Some springtime plants are not as nice or safe as they seem.

April Danger

When April comes along, I yearn to see
how beautiful my sickly yard can be.
Such pink and yellows, red and whites
Can lead to flowerbeds that make an awesome sight.
I long to see a daffodil spread that makes me smile
I think the tulips could last a long, long while.
The Iris has a nice pretty little flower
Then maybe a foxglove could add some power
Lets go with a sweet alyssum that I see
It will be special if I let it be
But much to my dismay and shocking surprise
Some of these plants could lead to pet demise
And others could make a pet have a seizure
So no bad blooming plants will occupy my leisure.
I hope that spring flowers will go away
And I’ll just have some roses that I’ll see everyday.

Yes some plants can kill or have a seizure producing
effect. If you are unsure, check with the nursery person
or a good book. My pets are family and I will protect
them from bad stuff.
