At Calvary
Thirty-nine stripes on His body

Each time with seven strands to gash His flesh

Each strand with something tied to disembody

Ripping off a piece of His flesh

They placed a crown of thorns on His head

And pounded them into his skin

Until blood ran down from his head

Then mocking with a grin

A nail was driven into His right hand

Entering into the wooden cross

So much pain to stand

With His arm stretching across

A nail was driven into His left hand

Arms outstretched on the cross

Blood streaming from each hand

New pain from arms stretched across

A nail was driven into His right foot

With blood shooting out

Then driven into His left foot

Then into the wooden cross bleeding out

A spear pierced His side

With water and blood gushing

His mortal body had died

No need for the leg crushing.
