What must be said

Days and days go by, constantly witnessing the same view
friends and strangers alike indulging each other, but if only they knew...
" Am i looking good?", "yes", "am i doing right?", "of course"
all in the name of loving each other, as if kindness is those actions' source
and from time-to-time jokes are thrown in the mix, to sweeten the already sweet lies
after all, honey is always one of the best baits for unsuspecting flies
yet at the end of these blissful words, a painful truth can be found
one that was perhaps kept in denial, to the point we can only bark at it like a hound

"you look good" they said, until you became like a fallen angel off their heaven
now you're the ugly creature they despise for barely any reason, so make this a lesson
and you, they said you were the righteous one, some even treated you like a saint
until you dared to make a mistake, and they decided to dye you in black paint

but both of you couldn't be so unfortunate right?
as to not have someone with advice along the way, or instead of listening, did you choose to fight?
how fragile we can be, swinging like a pendulum, at the mercy of good words
not accepting "NO" for an answer, for we tend to see it as a storm on us, the weak birds

O you who were once beautiful, and you who were seen full of virtues
embrace those who dared to say "No" to your whims, for they are ones who can help with your issues
though no one is devoid of sins, we can still correct one another
after all learning from others is our specialty us humans, dear sister, dear brother
and a sweet "yes" without care is meaningless, when faced with a truthful "No" that bothers
