———————————- ![]() walkin’ the hills on a cold winters day sun in the sky but no heat from the rays deer in the distance not lookin’ my way and we talk and we talk but you just never hear what I say ghosts of our love haunting unmarked graves lyin’ in limbo with all hell to pay screamin’ for fear that they can’t find their way and I try and I try though you just won’t hear anything I have to say when it’s late in the night and the moonshine wanes and I lie here waitin’ for the phone to ring but the phone doesn’t ring no the phone never rings and there’s nothin’ walkin’ the streets on a cold winters night moon in the sky playin’ shadows of light sirens at distance must shatter the quiet and we wish and we may but you can’t seem to hear what I say clouds castin’ shade over what might have been if only it could have, yeah would have been and all the lost souls cryin’ out for amends while I plead and I pray still you just won’t listen to anything I say now it’s late in the night and the moonshine’s wanin’ as I lie here waitin’ for the phone to ring but the phone doesn’t ring no the phone never rings ‘til there’s nothin’ ———————————- ![]() © 2025 Beguiling Lil’ Ditties ™ |
