a short poem about emotions (this work is not what I usually write)
This story is about a dam
this story is about a man
a man who does what he can
but ends up a wounded lamb

a massive dam, standing tall
people believe it will never fall
they trust in the law

but the dam is a front
a way to hide the internal runt

rains come, but never stay
like night turns into day

but the dam fears a day will come
when rivers run
from clouds above

when the day came, the dam froze with fear
it said :"oh dear"

rain pours into its lake
there's not much more the dam can take.

it shudders and groans
people below flee their homes.

the dam tries its hardest to hold
the water, drenched in the cold

salty tears run down
as water laps the dam's crown.

the dam is about to explode
the water is too much to hold

the people at last leave the village
the rain has finished

the dam, at last, gives
knowing that the village lives

the water rushes out of the dam's rubble
but it can no longer be trouble

for the dam has stopped it
for the man has stopped it

the villagers return
they remember what they learned

and rebuild the dam
as best as they can

and once again
the dam stood, and so did the man
