A silly poem I wrote long ago for a poetry class about a phenomenon I really experienced.
- inspired by Hood’s “I Remember” -

I remember, I remember
what a grand house we had.
I’d stand outside on our big front porch
and wave goodbye to Dad.

Years later, when coincidence
caused me to motor by,
I saw that in my memory
was not what met my eye.

I realized a law of physics
you don’t learn at age two:
It’s not that your house is bigger,
but that it’s bigger than you. 😄
