I took a stab at horror. Don’t mind the pun. Let me know what you think!

Sitting alone, stacked tall, without a fail
Inside the tree line that creates a veil
Without a care, a broken stair and a wooden rail
The Lonesome Cabin sits in the forest oh so-frail

Into those woods is a being so dark
Is it loud enough with its roar or bark?
A deep cut into a tree, leaving its mark
A spoken grumble grows like it’s a trademark
What could be coming from a being with no arc?

A Lonesome Cabin sits all alone
Stalked like prey, it's only a home
Inside this place, the boards creak, and they groan
A lady, she was, but you’d call her a crone
Dismissive, she is all on her own

A whisper, a scream, and an echoing cry
The pale moon rests upon that dark sky
Even though it was quick, she let out her last sigh
The beast stood over it; the scene where she died

The lights flicker inside of this same Cabin
Dark red stains on the gravel by the wagon
No fear nor shame from before it happened
A creature of disdain, bloodshed on the cabin

The Lonesome Cabin Still Stands All Alone
A bloody carcass by the doorway of this home
Frail was the body, snapped through the bone
Back into the woods without a trace of a moan

Sitting alone, standing tall without a fail
The beast who moved with the speed of a gale
A line it created, from the door to the trail
The cabin stood tall yet empty and stale
