The Suit

Its cold! Very cold, and when they opened my door I felt the bite. I am just to follow them. Everything is supposed to be ready as it always is. I follow the guys with the radios and dark glasses to the entrance and walk in. There are many people here, a lot I know and few I know of. Everyone milling around a bit, and everyone in suits or nice dresses.
They’re guiding us, my wife and I, to some chairs over to the side. I can hear band playing, and some muffled talking coming from down the corridor.
Sitting down I start to gather my thoughts, its not really easy considering the excitement. I think back to the beginning, my parents and I escaping, and moving around a lot when I was very young. I don’t remember a lot of the details but staying with people and getting acclimated to American language and thoughts. Then came school, and I got a brand new suit. I loved the suit, it was nice and comfy and fit me nicely.
They decided to school me at home but they still had to get the proper paper work. It was fine with me. I got to wear my suit every time we went out for some reason or another. I had to go to the regular school just to take the tests, which were easy. And I got to wear my suit.
The studies got more intense as I grew, more on the way people interreacted to things, studying the political things as well. Sometimes some of the things sounded just stupid to me. But I didn’t voice it, I just took the tests and tried my best to keep progressing. Growing as I did meant I kept getting new suits to wear. They started getting a bit tight on me and as right now feeling a bit uncomfortable. I could tell my wife was feeling the same way. Almost like a fish out of water.
Ok something is going on. People are standing and slowly lining up to each side of the doorway. My assistant is motioning for me and the wife. I stand and help her then we move to the doorway, looking down the corridor I see a door open at the end and the light of the sky.
Moving slowly down the corridor I again thinking of the past. The climb through those nasty political ranks, the promises, and the suits. Oh my how many suits. I know now that my special friends will be around. Growing up I did find more like me, and we became friends and associates. I knew I was special at the time but not this special.
We step through the doorway into the bright light of day, and I hear bands playing and people cheering. I wave and help my wife to set down. I whisper to her be patient its all most over.
I turn and move toward the podium, the speaker announcing the swearing in will be first then I will have a few words.
Stepping across the stage to put my hand on the Bible, I repeat the words given me. I make the oath of office I suppose.
Stepping back to the podium, the crowd cheers for a moment then slowly quiets down.
“Thank you for electing me as the 50th president of the United States” I reach up to my forehead, clasp the hidden zipper and unzip the suit. OHHHH that feels so good.
Flexing my head and stretching my full length, I reach my tentacles out and stretch as much as I can. Oh my that feels so good! I hear the crowd murmuring.
This is going great, they are stunned. Just as I wanted. The suit falls away. I glance to my wife and hers is gone to, showing her beautiful tendrils and those big eyes.
I stretch my 9 foot tendrils toward the sky and the spheres that were in stealth mode becomes visible, covering the sky over us.
I suppose those in the crowd know by now, they are ours.
