EVEN DEATH WILL NOT STOP THEM



After separating the two human women, Caterina looked down at the crowd of zombies. She then noticed someone walking through the crowd, completely ignored by the horde. She would have thought this impossible.



She then called the woman over to see that the zombies were ignoring a man. When the two women came over, the man was out of sight, so she wrote down what she saw and showed the women what she saw.



As she was explaining through her written words she tells the women that the guy likely came from their general direction. Yet left instead of staying with the crowd of zombies. Normally if a person is that close to a zombie they would be attacked for sure.



Lilly just thinks that Caterina is seeing things and even says so. Even Missy thinks the same. For no one was able to walk around even in daylight around the zombies without being attacked. They both know this from personal experience.



After saying their peace they each decide to head inside. For them, it is the last apartment before the stairs to the roof. They all head inside except for Caterina, who with her sword and shield does a quick check of the third floor for any zombies or people because of the fact that she heard the people after she rescued Missy.



The third floor was thankfully still clear. As she went to the stairwell to the second floor she heard some noises. So she made a minor barrier at the top of the stairwell to slow down anyone coming up the stairs. By useing some light furniture from the other four apartments.



After hearing Lilly call her that breakfast was ready she returned to the last room on the third floor. Once there she explained what took her so long. No one complained about it. Everyone realizes that they are all women who have roughly half the strength of men, but a fraction of the strength of zombies. Unlike humans, zombies do not have a limit on their strength. So they can use the full force of their muscles.



That means zombies need not worry about damaging their bodies by useing their full strength. For they are already dead. So they could without worry rival the strength of a gorilla. Where a human's limiter is even higher than that of an animal. For instance, even a chimp has the same strength as an adult human. Yet they are the size of a five-year-old.



The girls ate ramen this time instead of normal pasta. Once again the gas still works in this city for now, who knows when it will run out? The water pressure has greatly reduced compared to a few days ago. So that will run out soon too. Lilly mentions this during their meal.



So the girls decided to do what they did in the other apartment building for the top floor. After they make sure to clean it, they will fill the tubs with all the water that they can. The water will be used for cooking and drinking only. For now, even Caterina can use the cleanes spell. Cleaning up messes, surfaces, and bodies quickly and easily.



Missy was blown away to see real magic for the first time. Even spill stains in the burners were cleaned away with a simple spell. Those stains normally require a lot of scrubbing and strong cleaning agents.



Caterina continued to clean the apartments on the third floor. Even the hallway. So that there were no signs of corpses, or zombies on this floor. This was all after breakfast, and after the tubs were cleaned of course. By the time she was done, she also collapsed like her sister did Yesterday.



The older woman brought her back inside and put her on a couch to rest, till she was able to get up. They then filled the tubs up with water. As well as staying as far from the downstairs stairwell as possible. For it is only blocked with light furniture. Basically, things that could be plowed through with ease. Doing little more than slowing someone down.



Well, passing through the hallway of the third floor they could hear what sounded like zombies with their moaning groans. Something that should not be inside. For this apartment building was cleared out by Norman, and Caterina. Did Caterina forget to close the door, to the outside?



When Lilly asked Missy she said that she could not remember. Her only concern was getting away from the zombies. The women decided to add larger furniture to the barricade. They added two couches after removing a few small things to fit the couches.



Once again even with this, it would only slow any would-be attacker not stop them. Even so, it at least made the women feel better. Other than their sore backs from doing something men should do. Lilly was going to take some aspirin for her back till Missy stopped her.



Missy made it clear that their supplies are limited so they should not waste them for minor temporary pain. Lilly complained that the medicine has a limited lifespan, so it should be fine. Missy argued that they would still be good after their end date, as long as they remained dry.



They are arguing in the second-to-last apartment with the bathroom vanity mirror open to the prescription bottles. A heated argument started again between these two women. So much so that they woke up Caterina.



Caterina ended up going to the next apartment to lecture the women about their voices. That was when they heard the sound of someone crashing into the barricade. Causing all of them to rush to the door to make sure it is locked. As the apartment is now empty of sounds other than their breaths, they try to hide the sound of their own breathing.



The girls know for a fact that there are zombies up here now for the zombies are groaning at each other. The girls were also able to hear the unsteady heavy footsteps as well.



The worst thing about this situation is they left their weapons in the other apartment. The only good thing is that all the third-floor apartment doors are closed. Outside the one they are in, the rest are not locked. For they cannot guarantee that they have the right keys for the doors. Besides zombies have never opened the door before.



As the women were thinking these thoughts they heard then saw some trying to open the door to their apartment they were in. As the handle continued to shake. Raising their fear. That was when the shaking stopped then they heard the sound of a different door opening up.



Soon followed by other doors. They could also still hear the heavy feet, alongside the moaning groans. To the girl's utmost horror, and detriment they discovered a zombie mutation. A zombie that can use a door. This is truly a first.



Caterina backs away from the door, as she then looks for some kind of weapon. Missy also backs away as she pulls out a sub-nosed revolver and then points it at the door. Lilly alone stays close to the door as she tries to listen to the zombie's actions, and looks through the peephole to watch the zombie.



Missy tries to quietly call Lilly away from the door. Lilly on the other hand has all her attention on the zombie's actions. Never mind that there are two of them out here. that it is possible that both have this rare trait. Instead of just one.
