Platonic Love

I've been afflicted with quite the condition,
the thought of loneliness taking a center position.
Many have offered solutions,
and they've come to many conclusions.
But I've still not made a decision.
I think of love as true salvation,
so I'll keep my heart open and waiting.
I grow more anxious day by day,
hoping I'm not beyond saving.
However the stars aligned and I was shown a sign,
I found the solution that I was desperately craving.
A true friend who'll stay to the end,
something truly life-saving.
The path I walked was rugged and tough,
filled with thoughts most degrading.
But I'm not alone on this treacherous road,
so I'll walk as far as it takes me.
Till the end, I'll thank my friend.
The person who truly saved me.
