Concrete poem
My garden is a choir

2024 G.F. Frontera

My garden is a choir, with each flower arranged 'cordingly
each blossom sings a Capella in its octave range of treble or bass
Soprano and Alto, Tenor and Bass - one voice
psalm and song in four part harmony

Canticle of Canticles in a myriad clamor of colors
refraining hallelujahs and hosannas to a higher power
singing for themselves, singing for the sake of singing
Kyrie and response in antiphonal musical measures

Daisies and Daffodils, Mums and Marigolds
Blend and balance each note to a bar
Roses red and white, pink and purple
add passion and power to chords pronounce

Poppies and Forget-Me-Nots offer a dirge, a melancholy melody
in remembrance of the battle weary, fallen in the great conflict of years past,
and brothers of the square and compasses burned, in the furnace of terror,
each new bud a reminder of sacrifice made unselfishly

Tiger Lilies and Tulips in perfect pitch
in point-counterpoint arrangement resonates through air
to sing an ode to joy to lift up the soul
and stir the spirit of the forlorn and forgotten

Sunflowers and Dahlias bellow in deep rich tones
Birch and Beech, Maple and Spruce respond with branches dancing
Voices of Seraphim and Cherubim pale in comparison to each flourishing flower
My garden is a choir, with each flower arranged 'cordingly
